Position Responsibilities:

The Technology Innovation Manager will help develop growth platforms for an expanding global business. This individual will lead customer research programs to develop key insights. The IM will bring new products to life through initiation and management of large and complex new product development projects. This role will have high-level strategic interaction with senior management, and will require strong initiative and comfort with ambiguity in the pursuit of aggressive growth goals. The IM will work closely with the Sales team and our customers on game-changing innovations. As individual contributor and project leader on several diverse growth initiatives, this person will need great communication and teamwork skills, sound strategic thinking skills, deep experience with product research and forecasting, and comfort with financial analysis and program management.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Develop growth roadmap for key Brands.
    • Collaborate with VP/GM to develop strategic plan.
    • Drive alignment to objectives and key strategies within the R&D, Ops and Sourcing Teams.
    • Set clear financial objectives for revenue and margin, and align senior management. Measure progress ongoing.
    • Maintain innovation budget planning, management and delivery of goals.
  • Create innovation platforms
    • Identify opportunities and potential growth spaces for our Brands, and develop business case to pursue further investigation.
    • Create and lead customer and market research programs to gain key insights and drive ideation.
    • Develop new product concepts, optimize with consumer and customer feedback, and validate financial opportunity.
  • Drive alignment to innovation initiatives and lead their development through commercialization phase.
    • Lead cross-functional project teams and external design firms for key NPD projects
    • Develop all marketing elements of the new product
    • At each stagegate milestone, deliver strategic and financial summary and recommendation to senior management
    • Maintain clear, direct accountability for pipeline revenue value and timeline attainment per objectives

Position Experience: BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Education

Requires Bachelor's degree in Engineering and an MBA or extensive experience in Marketing. Experience with variety of market research techniques, primarily related to new product development and brand extension. Must have comprehensive knowledge of administrative and project management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling.


Experience/Knowledge

Requires at least 7 years of prior experience in technical product development and marketing. Prior experience in Product management or Brand management of engineered products will provide a solid base for success. Certifications/Licenses/Registrations


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Program Management of complex products involving a variety of technologies including hardware, software, firmware is preferred. The ideal candidate will have championed development of products in electrical, electronic or electomechanical platforms. MBA is preferred. Experience related to new product development in both B2B and B2C environments. Also should have comprehensive knowledge of administrative and project management functions such as planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and controlling.

    Interpersonal skills and business maturity to work effectively with individuals both internal and external to the company.
  • Proven track record in new products, including ideation, concept development and validation, and leading projects through launch to market.
  • Results orientation and high degree of initiative, follow-through, and accountability. Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • Ability to utilize various personal computer programs within a LAN environment, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation, and database software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as to analyze problems and make independent judgments to initiate corrective action and resolution.
  • Ability to bring creativity to program design and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in financial analyses.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
  • Strong task and detail orientation, awareness of urgency in communication, while displaying diplomacy in day-to-day interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Must also develop and deliver high-impact presentations at Senior Management level.
