Develops, implements and evaluates Marketing activities to meet profit and sales
objectives. Responsible
for decision-making activities and the overall coordination necessary to
properly set direction for and lead
a brand. Must demonstrate mastery of marketing techniques as well as both
leadership and management/ supervisory skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develops, gains agreement to, and executes brand objectives, strategies and
projects to achieve Plan sales
and profit. Responsible for setting as well as ensuring Plan sales and profit as
well as share and awareness goals are met.
Takes lead role in developing and analyzing facts and trends of the product
category, competitive product entries, and consumer usage and attitudes with
Market Research, Sales, R&D and advertising agencies; recommends action to
capitalize on profit opportunities or correct problem areas.
Manages complex multi-faceted marketing plan. Utilizes strong leadership skills
to manage
multiple vendors to ensure marketing plan is delivered at superior level.
Directs assistant or manages the following, as staffing dictates. Evaluation and analysis of market conditions. Make recommendations
for revising strategies and the Operating Plans as needed. Understand
implications of the recommendations and is prepared with contingencies and
alternative course of action. Takes active role in people development. Responsible for the
development and execution of personal development plans. Responsible for the
growth and/or improvement in their direct reports work.
Develops customer strategies. Understands role each customer plays
and how to successfully market our products through our key customers. Develops,
recommends and coordinates trade and consumer promotions with Sales and
Logistics Departments. Works with Market Research Department to identify, analyze and
implement programs based on
consumer insight and trend data. Is able to effectively link consumer insights
into tangible,
strategic plans.
Responsible for brand forecasts in conjunction with Sales and Sales
Forecasting departments.
Coordinates closely with manufacturing locations to assure proper customer
service. Identifies issues and solves / provides recommendations
Leads copy development and media objectives in conjunction with the
advertising agencies. Can effectively sell advertising plan to Sr. Management
and gain agreement with key decision makers. Takes lead role in developing packaging form and design in
coordination with Packaging Design,
R&D, Purchasing and Manufacturing. Brand legal issues as well.
Takes lead to ensure category and positioning information for
selling materials is available; works
with Sales to identify special selling opportunities or problems and recommends
appropriate action.
Participates actively in Sales calls.

Required: MBA pref.
Position
Experience:
Bachelors degree required. MBA preferred.
Minimum 4-5 years experience in consumer packaged goods marketing. Proven
leadership and strategic
abilities. Must be a decisive, action-oriented individual with experience
leading others. Proven ability to
communicate cross-functionally. Proven ability to effectively communicate to Sr.
Management. Must
have excellent written and presentation skills. Proven ability to work
effectively in/on teams.
